Lebanon’s MEA, Middle East Airlines, to resume direct flights to Baghdad

Middle East Airlines, the national carrier of Lebanon announced that it will be resuming flights to and from Baghdad starting October 29, 2009.
MEA will operate 4 flights per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday) to Baghdad, hoping to extend it to daily service.
Baghdad- Beirut: ME 323 Departure from Baghdad at 16:20 arrival to Beirut at 16:55
Beirut – Baghdad: ME 322 Departure from Beirut at 12:50 arrival to Baghdad at 15:20
MEA said that Iraq is the third largest source of tourists to Lebanon after Saudi Arabia and Jordan. After being confident of the security situation at Baghdad Airport, MEA said that the route should be profitable and made great business sense because of the significant demand.
