Lebanon gets ready for Ski Season

After a successful Summer tourist season where it is believed that more than 1.25 million tourists visited Lebanon in the first eight months of 2009, Lebanon is preparing for its second most popular tourist season which begins in November and lasts until April. During that time, Ski season is at its peak from the December holiday period all the way through the end of February.
Lebanon has been a Skiing destination for many years with the bulk of visitors coming from the neighboring Arab countries in the Middle East, with a healthy percentage of visitors from those countries being western expatriate workers in the Gulf region who prefer skiing in Lebanon because of it’s proximity to their new homes in the Gulf.
The leading areas in Lebanon for Skiing are Faraya and the Laklouk Mountains area. Leading hotels for Ski lovers include the InterContinental Mzaar Hotel in Faraya.
